A Cringe-Worthy Yet Humble Request

As of May 1, I’ve been writing this blog for a year, and this is my 70th post. What a year! I’m going to take a break because I have nothing else to do but write this blog. Uh oh: I think I’ve contracted the Trump disease of making no sense whatsoever.

But it’s true that the weird underlying stress of this event, especially the uncertainty, wears one down. I just read a description of three scenarios for how we come out of this, and you can rank them as bad, horrific, and catastrophic. And they don’t appear to be exaggerating anything.

Anyway, recently I noticed something new in the statistics that my website provides: someone, or some two people, actually “shared” the post about how I pranked some poor restaurant guy who only wanted his egg delivery. That hasn’t happened before.

A close friend who’s been a trade book editor thinks that this blog could be the first draft of a memoir. I’m flattered and thrilled and also disgusted, as I think memoirs come really close to being too self-absorbed. Anyway, who wants to read about me?

However, I’d like a favor, if you’re so inclined. If you could think of a friend, relative, enemy, former horrid boss, bank officer, police officer, favored dog, ex-lover, rich person who owns a publishing company, or other media mogul who might be interested in reading this, even if he/she doesn’t know me, would you mind letting him/her/them know about it? At the bottom of each post, there are four ways to share the links.

I’d like to build up a larger readership than I have, no offense intended. Maybe in the long run it would help me to find a publisher.

Yes, you COULD play the protagonist in the movie version. Unless Brad Pitt wants it. He looks exactly like a young Brad Pitt.
